Series: Ornaments

Throughout this series from 1988, titled “Ornaments”, I began to be more deeply involved with the overall colour design and background colour, hoping to achieve a more pregnant painterly effect. I chose to highlight the lines by surrounding them, most often, with yellow, pink or gentle bluish-green. Occasionally, I experimented with double- or triple-perception of the ornaments in the picture composition. Interestingly, I was not inspired by actual ornaments – an interest which I was
to pick up later.
